Although the campaign will not officially start until after the holidays, the news release of the Unexpected Faces, Unexpected Places last week was covered by several newspapers and local television stations.

Just got back from Simi Valley, CA where I attended Bruce Clay's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) training. Even though I started learning basic organic SEO back in 2001, a LOT has changed in the past few years. The focus has always been to design websites following good search engine practices and code markup without the SEO tricks that others try to implement with short-term results. Over time, Google and other top search engines have developed complex algorithms that weed out the faulty content and spam.

There are a ton of new rule sets and conventions to implement which follow current SEO standards so needless to say I'll be quite busy over the next few months!. Separate from design, my favorite quote in building a "least imperfect" spider-friendly site from Bruce Clay was "not to to build a flying pig website which you push off a cliff and hope will fly but rather re-engineer your website into an eagle that will soar".

Robert Longo Rasterized

A lot of people were concerned with what happened in the South Tampa area near Bayshore and downtown where I live. Below is the only evidence that remains,
photos taken from tbo.com. When I returned home Tuesday the water had subsided with minimal damage and debris in the area. In the first photo you can see Edison St. leading out to Bayshore, six streets over from mine.

I'm crossing my fingers that Hurricane Ivan takes a detour to avoid Tampa in the next few days.

Ever since Liquid Television aired on MTV in the early 90s, I’ve been infatuated with Æon Flux. From that series, Peter Chung’s character was so well-received that it spurred a regular cartoon series of it’s own. There was serious talk of doing a live-action version of the character and, after 8 years of deliberation, Charlize Theron was finally cast to play the role of Æon after winning the 2004 Oscar for Monster. Paramount Studios is paying her $10 million to play the part of the domineering double agent. Shooting started in Berlin last month and just yesterday Charlize suffered a neck injury due to stunts performed on a trampoline. Hopefully Charlize will have a quick recovery and production will not be postponed too long.

V3.0 of face2ecaf.com has materialized into my new obsession. Amongst various ongoing projects, my full-time job, and other extracurricular activities, I have decided to start small vs. designing three different templates simultaneously.
Rather than overwhelming myself (which is usually the case), I’ve decided to use this template as a starting point while slowly
adding new cookie-based templates or stylized color-schemes from which the end-user (yes, that would be YOU) can choose to set as your preference. This means that every time you come to visit my site, your browser settings will have saved the template in which you prefer to view this site.
